5 Top Tips for Keeping Warm in Winter#
I’m sat at my desk and I can feel the darkness creeping in around me. With it comes an icy chill and it reminds me that I need to…
1. Sort out the heating
It’s so important to succumb to putting the heating on in October, even though it’s an expense most of us don’t need. You can easily set a timer on most modern boilers, so it’s worth looking into to help you save the pennies. You could also invest in a new boiler, check to see if your radiators need bleeding, or even invest in some new radiators. There’s a gorgeous selection of Cast Iron Column Radiators to choose from, and more!
2. Get shopping!
Who needs an excuse for more winter jumpers?! I do not! I will take any opportunity to go shopping with Zoey and stock up on woolly jumpers! You can find so many bargains this time of year, so head out and grab some cosy jumpers ready for these long winter nights…
3. Candles…
Having some candles on can make a massive difference to the warmth of a house. Just lighting a few can make the different between warm and cosy and chilly feet! We tend to pop ours on in the evening before snuggling down to a nice movie together…
4. Insulation
Make sure your house is fully insulated. Check for gaps and draughts and make sure you fix them up so no sneaky cold air can get in! You can even get a draft blocker or make one (stuff some tights) and keep the pesky cold at bay. Making sure all those gaps are covered up and the cold air can’t get in is so important, so do it now before it gets too cold to tackle.
5. Stay in bed more!
I know, this is a cheeky one, but bed is where it’s at. Snuggle up at night with hot chocolate, biscuits and a book or have an extra snooze in the morning (no one cares about bed hair, right?!). Bed is the perfect place to stay warm and snuggled, and it’s even cosier if you have a pooch to keep you company. Am I right?!
