Make a Rainbow Fish Wind Chime with Gorilla Glue #CraftCompetition

*This is an entry into Gorilla Glue’s Craft Competition.

We’re so excited to be able to enter a lovely crafty competition from Gorilla Glue. We’ve been studying all things under the sea so I thought it would be fun to make a fish-related craft.

Make a Rainbow Fish Wind Chime with Gorilla Glue

You will need…

  • Clear Gorilla Glue
  • Sea related bits (starfish, shells etc)
  • Ribbon/String
  • Wire
  • Template of a fish
  • Clay
  • Sequins and other pretty things
  • Googly eyes

Step 1

Roll out your clay so that it’s big enough for your fish template.

Step 2

Cut around the template to create your clay fish. Smooth any rough edges with your fingers.

Step 3

Use a straw or skewer to pop several holes through the bottom part of the fish. This is where you will hang your wires and ribbons. Add another hole at the top of your fish, this is for hanging your fish up when it’s complete!

Step 4

Once your clay fish is dry it’s time to paint it! I gave mine a base coat because I’d used terracotta coloured clay and in this summery heat it dried instantly. Then it was time for the fun bit! Use any colours you like and make your fish stand out from the crowd!

Step 5

Use Gorilla Glue to attach googly eyes, sequins and sprinkle glitter onto your fish…

Step 6

Add ribbon or string to the top hole and tie it off so you can hang your fish up once you’ve completed…

Step 7

Using wire, string or elastic, create long dangly bits full of beads, charms, shells or anything else you’d like to add. Attach this to your fish…

Finally, find somewhere to hang your beautiful fish! I think it’s a lovely craft perfect for hanging or in a window!

How lovely does it look?!

I can imagine it hanging in a lovely bathroom or a children’s bedroom; it’s so versatile and pretty. I hoep you enjoyed this tutorial, please let me know if you try it out!
