When I Marry Zoey (Again!): Dream Wedding Wishlist
AD
Today on the blog I’m so excited to talk about something Zoey and I have been talking about ever since she came out to me on New Year’s Eve. When I marry Zoey (again!) we are going to do things a little differently, read on to find out more…
When I Marry Zoey (Again!): Dream Wedding Wishlist
When I marry Zoey again, things are going to be SO different, and I’m really excited and happy about that. One thing that’s definitely going to change is the people we spend this special day with, because they’re either not here anymore or we’ve changed direction and no longer spend time or energy on the people that attended our first celebration, all those 10 years ago…
There are several major changes to our future wedding celebration (most likely it will be a blessing with a party full of good souls), and I’m so excited to talk them through and envision them for our future.
People
People change and grow, friends grow apart, and sometimes people are too judgmental to have in your life. One thing I’ve learnt from all of this is who we can trust; who we can trust our time with, who we can trust to have our backs. Our circle is small, but it is beautiful. This wedding will be even more intimate than before, and it will be even more beautiful because of this.
Food
Food, glorious food. Of course, if we decide to have a meal or a buffet, it will be vegan. No other options, we will go all out to have tasty vegan goodies and cake! All the vegan cake we can find! I’m too old to worry about people’s judgemental glances, especially when it comes to food…
Clothing
Well, I can guarantee neither Zoey or I will be wearing a suit, but if my Dad was still alive I’d totally purchase one of the gorgeous suits from Suits Men. I would have loved to have had him here to celebrate with us, second time around…
For us, it will be all about the dresses. We’ve talked a few different colour schemes, and I keep giggling because I think we’ll be going down the ‘blush and bashful’ route. I can imagine it being extremely feminine, with me in converse, just to add a little edge to the soft pink hues. We have a Pinterest board with all of our ideas, so go check it out if you’re keen to see what our wedding taste is like!
Of course, we’ve talked heavily about the perfect engagement and wedding rings, we’re spoilt for choice, but mine may have to have a hint of green, obviously!
Venues
I can’t say we have a huge budget, but it would be so lovely to go somewhere pretty or full of history to get married. Our first wedding was like a magical mystery tour! Register office, restaurant and then to The Wharf (RIP- they knocked it down) for a late night party. This time it would be great to do everything all under one roof, from start to finish. I also love the idea of having the ceremony at Dyffryn Gardens; it’s so beautiful! I don’t know if they do this kind of thing, and it’ll be December so it might be too cold to do it outside, but what a venue! Cardiff Town Hall is also amazing and there are so many other beautiful places and buildings in Cardiff to choose from, I think we’ll be spoilt for choice!
Music
I have to be honest and say, I don’t think we’d change a thing when it comes to music. Our first dance, our song, will always be More Than Words by Xtreme, and I don’t think that will ever change! I do think we’ll sort the music rather than hiring someone in, but you never know. Our DJ from our wedding in 2008 was awful, so I don’t really want to have the same experience second time around!
Writing this has made me so psyched about our wedding plans, from the people to the chance to show Zoey just how much I love her, it’s going to be one of the greatest days of my life.
If you were to have another wedding, what would be different for you, second time around?
