Pieminister Cardiff Review: I Must Have Pied and Gone to Heaven!

*We were invited to Pieminister to try out their new menu for free, with no obligation to post, but it was too good not to share!

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you’ll hopefully know how completely honest I am, and this post is no different! We were invited to Pieminister in Cardiff (with no obligation to write this) to try out some new twists on their menu, and I couldn’t not write about how amazing their restaurant is!

Pieminister Cardiff Review: I Must Have Pied and Gone to Heaven!

It’s such a joy to write a 100% positive review, and when I say Pieminister is outstanding in every way, I mean it! Warren and I had a little date night planned, so when I received the invite, we jumped at the chance to try out some new and tasty dishes.

Pieminister is run by founders and brothers-in-law, Tris and John. Here’s an insight into their story…

There’s certainly magic in what they do, and their food is beyond delicious. Their menu seems a lot more extensive than the first time we popped in on a whim (a while ago now!). I remember how much Warren and I loved it, from the friendly staff to the delicious food to the awesome atmosphere.

Last night we tried out their new loaded fries with a pie, dubbed the ‘Fully Loaded’ (£11.95) and you get so much food!

We were literally gobsmacked when the food came out. Warren had the Moo Pie and I chose Kevin (of course!). kevin is deliciously vegan, and the flavours are just mouthwateringly good!

As for the loaded fries, where do I begin?! Warren had El Toro (braised beef, chorizo, jalapenos, olives and cheesy sauce) but he asked for no olives. I went for the Cauli Gosh! (crispy spiced cauliflower, PM’s curry sauce, pickles and sriracha), and it was too good for words! The flavour combinations are so good and completely more-ish. I can’t tell you how good this was! Plus, they provide a vegan gravy and I also spotted the new version of mash is vegan so I’m excited to go back and try it out…

Of course, upon hearing they now stock a flavour of vegan ice cream, we had to try it out! It’s called the Gold Digger and it consists of salted caramel vegan ice cream and millionaires shortbread. We were nervous to try it as some vegan ice cream can taste kinda chalky. This was velvety and more-ish and I’m planning to go in and just have ice cream with the kids very soon!

There’s also lots of other exciting things happening at Pieminister, such as their Saturday Brunch, which happens every other week and costs £20 per person. This is finishing at the end of October so get in whilst you can!

They’ve also introduced their Sunday Best, combining a pie and a Sunday lunch! It sounds absolutely phenomenal and I’m definitely heading back to try this out. They’re also booking now for their Christmas menu, so get organised now and don’t miss out!

We had an awesome time at Pieminister, and I’d 100% recommend checking it out because it’s a wonderful company with extremely tasty food!
