Top 5 UK Romantic Getaways

With our ten year wedding anniversary around the corner, I thought it would be nice to share a list of top 5 UK romantic getaways. Whether you have children or not, getting away from the hubbub of day-to-day life is essential, especially when it’s a time of celebration!

Top 5 UK Romantic Getaways

I love the whole concept of romance, from flowers to chocolates I’m a sucker for romantic gestures. When it comes to a break away with Warren, I feel I’m always on the hunt for something special, something that we’re likely never to forget…

1. Aberystwyth

This was our magical place, a place where we fell in love. Regardless of whether you’ve been to Aberystwyth or not, you’re sure to find a huge amount of romance as you walk along the seafront and when you spend an evening in the gorgeous world of Rummers. There are so many places to stay, but our favourite spot will always be The Glengower.

2. London

Who doesn’t love hitting the big city? Yes, I know I get a little scared travelling there alone, but with my loved one on my arm I think I’d have an amazing time. I imagine hitting the theatre for a show would be the most romantic thing ever, and you could book one of the Fraser Suites Kensington for a night of pure indulgence!

3. Edinburgh

I’ve never been to Scotland, but it’s definitely on my list of places to go. The whole Scottish history gives me goosebumps and I think checking out Outlander’s tourist spots would be super romantic! There’s also 10 Travel Tips from The Mamma Fairy if you need inspiration!

4. The Lake District

This nameplace oozes romance. I’ve never been but it’s definitely deserving of a place on this list! The views, the wide open outdoors, it’s all here for the taking and I definitely think you’d feel like you’d had a big break from the real world whilst staying here.

5. Birmingham

I had to do it. I was born in the city, so this one makes perfect sense to me. Visiting the Bacchus Bar and heading along the canals for a stroll, Birmingham city has more romance than you might think! You could head to MAC and go for a boat ride on the lake or you could spend a day wandering around the Jewellery Quarter. There are so many hotels and beautiful places to eat, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Wherever you choose to go for your romantic getaway, we all know that being together is the most important part. So go for a break in the city, hop on a train to the rolling countryside, but all you need to do is make sure you do it together.
