A Poem Dedicated to the Golden Cross
The Golden Cross
‘Come on, Kel!’ she yells.
She wants to feel safe,
find a quiet space,
to rest our weary legs.
So, we walk,
and talk,
stalking the city one step at a time…
Until we find sanctuary,
respite from the weary world.
A place where everyone knows her name,
where there’s no shame in what we stand for.
Painted rainbows,
dancing through the night,
Bright lights and lipstick kisses –
I hold her hand tight.
We can stand tall in this place we call home,
Because surrounded by love,
we’re never alone.
