Here’s to Planning a Holiday I Haven’t Booked (Yet!)

I can’t help it, that glorious glimpse of summery weather in February has given me a taste for a holiday, so I’ve taken the plunge and I’ve started planning a holiday I haven’t booked (yet!) . I can’t stop thinking about sandy toes and salty kisses, I can’t stop imagining myself relaxing as the sun warms my skin and I can’t stop dreaming of a holiday away from real life…
Here’s to Planning a Holiday I Haven’t Booked (Yet!)
I spent a few hours sorting out the photos on my laptop the other night and I found loads from our trip to Barcelona (yes, I still need to write about that!). It made me feel bittersweet, because although we had an amazing time, I want us all to be back there now, living in that moment of freedom and sunshine.
On Tuesday I went to a blogging event and there was a lot of talk about travel. It made me feel uneasy, because I’m so desperate to get away with Zoey, George and Molly. It made me want to book a trip immediately, but because I can’t right now (for so many reasons) I’ve decided to plan our holiday, regardless of the lack of booking.
In all honesty, I’m hoping we can get away in May or June, so we can all have a break from the craziness of our lives. I’m hoping we can book somewhere warm and delightful, somewhere we can explore and somewhere we can simply relax.
So, when it comes to dreaming and planning ahead, here’s what I’ve done so far..
Ask Around
I’ve started asking other people and travel bloggers for tips. I’ve asked about accomodation, cheap flights and recommended destinations. For us, a holiday abroad isn’t on the cards this year, but it’s still nice to find out where to get the cheapest flights and destinations are!
You can ask friends, family or even ask in online forums. Plus, there’s always the choice to search via the internet which will take you straight to some super discounted sites. A lot of them compare prices these days so you can really save quite a bit of money!
Mood Boards
Pinterest is perfect for this kind of thing. Not only does it get you in the frame of mind for a holiday, but it also makes sure you’re focused on the things you want to do and see! You can also plan the things you need to pack and get an idea of spending money and travel/accommodation budget. Plus, I just love swooning over the gorgeous pins and images…
You could create your own collection of travel related ideas, hopes and dreams as well as set up boards with images from your own travels. The ideas are endless!

Shopping!
There’s nothing quite like a bit of retail therapy ahead of a holiday, right? Zoey and I recently received a gorgeous selection of swimwear from UK Swimwear. We cannot wait to strut our stuff in their gorgeous ranges when we manage to escape the real world! Their gorgeous summer bikinis are perfect for all types of getaways, from last minute to well planned (can you guess which we are?!).
I absolutely love these sets, and I think they’ll make us feel even more gorgeous whilst sunning ourselves and building sandcastles on the beach!
You can find out more about their range at UKSwimwear.
Save
Saving every penny can really help push you towards your holiday dream destination. Don’t buy coffee out, take pre-made lunch to work, cut back on take-away or eating out and squirrel your extra dosh away so you can spend it on your holiday and all the lovely things you’ll need for it!
It’s so easy to throw away money in this world, so try saying NO more. This way you can spend your well earned cash on flights, accomodation, spending money and gorgeous swimwear from UKSwimwear.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post, and dreaming about the holiday I haven’t booked (yet!). What top tips do you have for making it happen?
