Live A Lifestyle That Focuses On You
*Collaborative post
You’re the captain of your own ship. You might not feel like you are, but you really are the captain of your own ship. There is so much that you can do in life, and so much that you can get out of life if you just realise that you’re your own worst enemy. Think of all of the things in life you wished you could have done, and think how possible they would have been if you had devoted some time and energy to them? It’s so easy to think you’re not clever enough, or you don’t have enough money, or you don’t have enough time. Think about all of the billionaires in the world and how far they have come. Some people achieve absolutely everything the world has to throw at them, without coming from a background where everything is handed to them. So, we’re going to show you how you can live a lifestyle that’s more focused on you. You don’t necessarily have to get anything out of it, you just need to live a life where you’re the main event. Stop putting everything else in your life first, and see what happens when you start focusing on you a bit more. We know that if there is one thing we can all benefit from, it’s a bit more you time.
Nights In Alone
Nights in alone are one of the most treasured moments in life. For those of you who have started a family, then nights in alone might be a thing of the past. But that’s not to say that you shouldn’t be trying to get some you time in. It’s so important for your mind, body, and soul, to be able to spend some time alone and to enjoy it. Even if that time alone is 30 minutes in the bath whilst the kids are in bed, or whilst your partner looks after them, it’s better than nothing at all. What it gives you time to do is focus on yourself and process the thoughts you’ve had during the day. We usually harbour so much stress and anxiety because we don’t think about the problems of the day. This then leads us to carry them on to the next day, and the cycle of stress continues. To do so you might benefit from either picking through the day in your mind and throwing thoughts away, or completely turning your mind off from them. Diving into a book is a good way of clearing your mind. Or, you might be a bit of a Netflix and chill sort of person, and concentrating on what’s on the screen is also a good way of turning off your mind. There are some good Netflix shows you won’t want to miss in 2020 that we know will keep you hooked. Or it might be that you just need to sit in your room with a few candles on, and trying something therapeutic like colouring books. Adult colouring books are becoming more popular as a way of getting rid of stress.
Bettering Your Health & Wellbeing
There comes a point in life where you really need to think about your health and wellbeing, and how much you’re focusing on it. Your health and wellbeing should be so important to you. It’s a chance for you to be able to pick yourself up when you’re feeling blue, and actually lift that groggy feeling. If you have already done so then you’ll know how much of a difference it’s going to make to how you’re feeling. We all like to moan about feeling run down, tired, and generally rubbish, but fail to realise that making big changes to your health and wellbeing is the answer. If you have already done so, then you can skip on to the next section. For those of you who haven’t, it’s time to take a stand, and we think the best way of doing so is to do it little by little. If you reduce everything out of your diet and force yourself to the gym, it’s not going to be enjoyable. Try and get two out of your three meals a day healthy. Make overnight oats as a sweet treat for breakfast, eat what you want for lunch, and eat a healthy dinner. Snack well in-between on healthy crisps, protein bars, and anything that isn’t too small and not substantial. Fit a 30-minute walk in, every other day, and you’ve kick-started your own revolution. You can build on it from there. Putting a healthy lunch in, increasing your water intake, and getting into the gym and trying other forms of exercise can all help.
Doing More For You
If you want a lifestyle that focuses more on you, then you are going to have to actually do more for you. We’re so bad as a human race as either being the leaders or the followers, and everyone who seems to be a follower is always doing something for the leader. So, if you feel like you’re not getting much out of life at the minute because you’re always doing something for someone else, try and put the roles in reverse. This can usually be put into place when looking at relationships. Relationships are usually so one-sided that it puts a big strain on love life, or they’re so equal it makes everyone else jealous. So, try and delegate the jobs so that you’re not finding yourself rushing around doing everything. Coming home to dinner on the table for once rather than you having to do it all of the time can make all the difference to your relationship.
Revisiting Old Ambitions
Finally, focus on things that used to keep you motivated in life. If you used to have the ambition of learning an instrument or new language, then go out there and do it. Challenge yourself to do something different in life and we know you’ll feel like you’re achieving more. When it’s personal goals you’re achieving it’s far better.
