Book Review: Legends of the Lost by Ian P Buckingham
When it comes to young children’s novels, we can take a while to get through them as a family. I think it takes a little longer for younger children to step away from picture books (we love picture books and always will!) and into the world of block text and full on imagination.
The story follows a family on holiday at a fishing village where the children find a magical Moonstone that shines a new light on their family. The family end up on an adventure they could only imagine, and within all the mystery and magic they get drawn into a war that could change their world.
The book is separated into sections that are broken down rather than set chapters. This is pretty refreshing because you feel like you’re reading a short story followed by the next section and so on…
I really love how this book is written. I’ts full of so many beautiful descriptions and we immediately fell in love with the little family. The writing is spot on for the age range it’s aimed at, even though I think it’s a perfect read no matter what your age!
There’s so much action and adventure throughout that it’s hard to put it down, but this is a good thing! I’d say it’s a pretty perfect read for any family with a sense of adventure and heart…
