Changes are Coming to Kelly Allen Writer

Hey folks, so this is quite a personal post all about the blog and the new direction I plan to take it in. I set this blog up with the aim of focusing on my writing career, from my work-in-progress novel (yes, I know it’s been going on for ten or so years, but give me time…) as well as my poetry, my life and anything else I fancied!

Over the years it evolved and family elements slowly crept in. This meant I had no focus for my writing and, as a result, I stopped putting pen to paper (or fingertips to keyboard) in a creative way and it became much more of a diary and a way to earn money.

Things will be changing from now on, and although I’ll still use this space as a place to earn money so I can put food on the table, it will also be a place much more dedicated to writing, theatre, books, travel and general culture, as well as transgender family life. Sure, I’ll still have a parental rant now and again, but you’ll no longer see crafts or home educational snapshots on this blog.

I want to get back into writing again, I want to feel that passion once more, and this is the way to do it. I want this to be a bit more of a grown up space, so expect the odd f-bomb… I also want to feature more reviews as well as talk about our transgender family, because it’s a large part of our life!

However, I still want to write about home education, day trips, theatre with the kids, home educational resources, toy reviews and all that other fantastic stuff. So, after a bit of thought, Zoey helped me to decide to start a second blog that’s wholly family focused (no f-bombs there, I promise!). We have called it The Rebel Tribe, and I can’t wait to get it off the ground. Please pop over and take a look…
