5 Things to Make Travelling as a Family Stress Free
No matter how organised you are, travelling as a family can have some stressful moments, so I’ve popped together a list of 5 things to make travelling as a family stress free, and I hope it helps you with your future travels!

Documents
Organising your documents is a key process that will ensure smooth and stress free travel. For us, this means making photocopies of passports (if travelling abroad), keeping all travel documentation together (accommodation bookings, travel insurance details, tickets for events etc) as well as your itinerary in a folder together so you don’t lose them.
2. Be smart
Make sure you pack and organise your money in a clever way. Suitcases get lost, pickpockets are always looking out for unsuspecting tourists, so be smart. Spread clothing across the suitcases instead of having suitcases dedicated to certain people. This way, you’ll still have something to wear if one suitcase goes missing. The same applies to money; spread it between you and your travelling partner, don’t put the money all in one place!
3. Hire a car
Take the stress out of travel by hiring a car from a company such as Blue Chilli Cars. You can use it for travelling around as well as getting to certain destinations. This is great for families who can drive but don’t have a vehicle, because you can hire them for your trip to Devon without having the upkeep of a vehicle throughout the year!
4. Be time savvy
Zoey’s biggest tip is to get prepared early. If you need to get to your destination or the airport for a certain time, plan to leave an hour or so before you need to. We all know that getting out the house on time is normally an impossible task, so take the pressure off and plan to leave earlier. Even if you don’t, you won’t be late!
5. Think about the kids
If you’re going to be stuck in a car or on a plane for hours, think about the children. They will get bored, they might moan (a LOT!) or they may get upset. Think of all the possibilities and then plan for them. Take a bag of toys, magazines, felt tips, lollipops (for ear popping plane journeys), snacks and whatever your child will need to make the journey less stressful for all of you. Here are more tips for travelling with kids.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post, and I hope the tips have come in useful. Let me know any suggestions you may have to make travelling as a family stress free in the comments below.
