Zoofold: the Beauty of Nature…

Last week we received a gorgeous package in the post from Zoofold, the quirky and eco-friendly creation of India Aspin.
A self-confessed ‘fancy dress fanatic’, India is also a qualified architect and has spent over two years developing amazing animal inspired masks. Each Zoofold is made from recycled cardboard and is recyclable, making them a total dream for people who want to make a change in this world.
We are huge on recycling and cutting back on waste, so these are a perfect example of re-use and recycle to share with our children. When our package arrived I literally couldn’t wait to open ours to see what it was like!
We’ve recently had a go at Origami with our Little Passports subscription, so the idea of folding and creating an animal ourselves felt amazing. Molly sat with me at the kitchen table and we opened up the box to reveal all the pieces that would later create a stunning deer head.
The box was beautifully presented, with quirky Zoofold tissue paper and simple instructions. We opened it up and read over the important details, and then we began.
First I want to say that I feel it’s really important to read the instructions thoroughly – they are simple and well laid out but I’m not the best at self-assembly (!). However, I really wanted to have a go at this to see if I could do it, and I did (with the help of Molly, of course!). I’d suggest having a nice clear table top to spread out and get your head around creating! I only say this because I get baffled by the simplest of things…
Molly helped me match numbers and letters and within a few minutes I could see the shape of the deer head forming before my eyes. It was really exciting!
We had our moments of panic, occasionally sticking it a bit off-line, it would be so easy to say Molly did it, but it was totally me that missed the lines and made our mask a little wonky. Not only was it fun to do, but it was also very therapeutic and it gave Molly and I chance to bond one-on-one.
When we finished the mask we felt such a sense of satisfaction and it was also a chance to try it on! When Warren got home he couldn’t wait to try it out, and I have photgraphs to prove it…
What I love most about Zoo Fold masks is their versatility. You can wear them covering your face; the eye holes are perfect to see through and you don’t get over-heated because it’s not made from a suffocating material. You can also wear them on your head so your face isn’t covered, and the handy headband included is adjustable to fit different sized heads. Or, like we have done, you can hang one (or two, or three…) on your wall. They look stunning and they completely transform boring walls! I have found ours to be a real talking point too, whenever guests come over they always ask about it!
Isn’t it gorgeous?! I adore Zoofold, India has created an amazing collection of masks and, if that wasn’t enough, 5% of profits from the Woodland Collection are donated to the Woodland Trust.
The deer mask costs just £16.95 and, like any of the Zoofolds, it can be used for festivals, parties, fancy dress or to add something special to a room of your choice.
I am 100% behind India and her dream of a creative, eco-friendly and artistic future.
Disclosure: I received a Zoofold in exchange for review. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
