Take the Stress Away this Christmas with Thermapen…

I don’t know about you, but I get quite nervy cooking on Christmas Day. It feels like the pressure is on, so much to do and think about, lists piling up and food all around needing care and attention. Whenever I cook a roast I worry the meat or poultry isn’t cooked through, but with the nifty Thermapen I feel safe in the knowledge that my food is cooked properly before I feed any guests!
We recently tried out Thermapen and it was actually quite a lot of fun to use. It has a very sharp point so you need to be careful, but I used it as a talking point with my children about food safety. We talked about temperatures and how to test a roast chicken, and even though it’s a serious subject, we enjoyed testing it out.
I love how versatile this product is. I really thought it could only be used for meat/poultry, but actually you can use it for cold foods such as cheesecakes, checking cold foods are being stored at the right temperature, plus you can use it for tempering chocolate; it’s incredibly useful and takes the temperature in under 3 seconds!
Have you used a Thermapen before? I think they’d be such a great addition to any home not only for the Christmas season but all year round!
