Our Summer Holiday at Sandymouth Bay, Bude.

Two children on a beach with title 'Our Summer Holiday at Sandymouth Bay, Bude.'

We booked a holiday
very last minute this year, and for this reason it was super cheap
and super wonderful! I always get nervous leaving it so late to book,
but it worked out really well for us and we ended up with a caravan
break for 4 nights for approximately £150. This meant all we’d need
to do was buy food on top (thank you Lidl), pay for petrol and have
little bit of spending money for the kiddiebops.

We all wanted
different things from the holiday itself; my number one need was a
beach, Warren wanted a pool and the kiddies wanted to simply play and
run wild. Well, when we found Sandymouth Holiday Resort it seemed
like a match made in heaven for all of us!

It’s recently been
renovated and it boasts amazing views, a splash park, pool, play
zone, small soft play, kids entertainment, restaurant, bar and
amazingly attentive staff. When you’ve exhausted all these fab things
you can hop in the car and head to one of the fantastic beaches or
stroll around Bude eating fish and chips and buying little trinkets
for your loved ones.

Upon arrival we were given our key and directed to our lovely caravan. The views were stunning and the caravan was exceptionally clean, with a bin bag, recycling bag and cleaning materials provided. We were also given a very quirky tin suitcase with a few bits of information in, which we were allowed to take home! These were also available to buy if you fancied having one each as a keepsake/toy for the kids.

It felt so lovely to get away and be together as a family without all the woes of normal life hanging over our heads. I love how excited the kiddies get when we go on holiday, they literally cannot wait and they adored the caravan and outside space…

The resort’s activities were really great, and the evening staff were brilliant with the kids. They arranged games, a family quiz, music and more; we were all able to have fun as a family and it meant Warren and I could have a pint in the bar and the kids could enjoy a fizzy pop whilst we were all together and having fun. We also had the occasional night in the caravan, which was so relaxing…

In the day time it was all about the splash park, pirate ship and pool – these were all used to their fullest by George and Molly!

We also headed to a couple of beaches during the week, as well as going for a wander around Bude itself, which is so beautiful and full of interesting shops and quirky pubs and eateries.

When we had to leave we were all so sad, but it didn’t quite end there because we hit The Milky Way on the way home and had an amazing final day of the holiday! From a Star Wars display to bumper cars, we had so much fun; there’s even a huge play area for kids (and adults!) as well as lots of other interesting things to do…

We had an awesome holiday, I kinda wish we’d booked two weeks to be honest! I really hope we can go back and visit Sandymouth again soon, it was beautiful and spacious, with loads to do, lots of other lovely families and amazing staff!

Have you been to Sandymouth Bay? Did you enjoy it?
