It’s that time of year again and what better way to mark the start of Christmastime than a visit to Bryngarw Country Park to meet Green Santa. Set in the beautiful forest grounds, Santa’s Yurt is a magical place of wonder, it’s the perfect place to mark the start of the festivities…
We arrived at our allotted time slot and we were led into the forest by a very friendly elf. The first stop was the wishlist table where the children were asked to write down three things they’d love to receive from Santa as well as draw a picture. Mince pies were offered out to everyone at this point, which I thought was a really lovely touch.
Once the children had finished they posted them into a little postbox and had a wander around the grounds waiting for their turn to see Santa. The elves were really engaging with the adults and the children, leaving us all feeling warm and fuzzy inside. They told us tales and they pointed out various displays around the yurt.
Soon it was time to see Santa and we were all so excited! He was a witty, jolly Santa, with quite a focus on whether the children had been good or not this year. Molly kept him on his toes whilst Warren and I had a giggle, and then it was time for a photo…
George and Molly both received a goodie bag with a little cuddly toy, a colouring book, stickers, fake tattoos and colouring pencils as well as a chocolate coin to munch. The theme of the bag was all to do with wildlife and it was really sweet and actually quite refreshing!
We had a great time at Bryngarw, even once we’d met Santa Claus there was still more fun to be had in their wonderful park area. There’s just so much to see and do that this wonderful makes us leave wanting more.
Tickets for Green Santa are £6.50 each and I think they’re well worth it!
