Last night I was kidnapped. Yes, dear readers, Cathryn from Cardiff Mummy Says kdnapped me and I’ve never been happier!
It all began with a blogger tribe trip to Five Guys at the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay. When I say ‘tribe’, I’m refering to a bunch of hot momma bloggers living in South Wales. We’re mostly internet and whatsapp buddies, but last night we met in the flesh, and oh what a night it was!
spending wasting an hour deciding what to wear followed by train cancellations it was a relief to to jump into the car with Cathryn and Jess and head out for dinner with the tribe. I felt really shy amongst the group, but they were sooooooooooo friendly and welcoming that my fears faded fast and soon everyone was jibber-jabbering away like we’d known each other (in person) for years!
When it was time to order food I felt spoilt for choice. Five Guys allows you to create any kinda burger you like, with a great selection of toppings. I love that the food is prepared daily in the restaurant and there are no added preservatives.
I ordered a little cheeseburger with relish, grilled onions and mayonnaise, a salted caramel milkshake plus fries to share. The menu was super easy to use, and really inexpensive too!
When the food arrived I was surprised to see how big the ‘little’ burger was! the milkshake was more-ish and the fries certainly hit the spot!
After we’d filled our tummies we got lost in conversation, from blogging to parenting, to all that’s in between, we had a good old chin-wag! I had such a wonderful night and I think our tribe is truly one in a million.
When Cathryn dropped me off in Cardiff to meet my mother, we ended up chatting (with Jess too!) and as the conversation turned to silence, you know, the time when you get out of somebody’s car? Well, guess what? I couldn’t. The childlock was on and for a second I had no idea how to get out. With silence fast approaching, I sat in the back and said, ‘Erm, I can’t get out…’
This ended with us in fits of laughter and Cathryn commented in headline-style, ‘Kidnapped by Cardiff Mummy!’ as she opened the door for me. It was hilarious, and perhaps one of those ‘you had to be there moments’ but I’m still laughing about it today!
And you know what? I can’t wait to be kidnapped once more by Cardiff Mummy and the rest of the tribe!
