We love growing our own fruit and vegetables, but when it comes to flowers I think we could do with planting these just as much in our little garden. When it comes to flowers I think it’s a really fab way of encouraging more wildlife into our gardens as well as helping out our insect friends.
When it comes to types of plants and flowers, I will admit I know very little. This means I plant very little too, because I don’t want them to suffer I want them to thrive. If I learn all about all the variants and their needs, surely I can create a flower haven in our garden?
Rattan Direct have created the perfect flower quiz to help me (and you and every other plant lover!) to get to grips with the basics of different types of flowers. I’ve already taken the quiz and scored a measly 3 out of 7, so I definitely need to do some work before I start experimenting with all the wonderful varieties of plants out there…
I really love the idea of a magical fairy garden full to the brim with beautiful wildlife and flowers, but for now it’s time for me to settle down with a gardening book or two! I need to figure out the difference between a Dahlia and a Delphinium before I get green in the garden this year!
Please check out A Simple Life’s tips to get your garden ready for summer this year, it’s the perfect inspiration for those green fingers!
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for more ‘grow your own’ posts, I’ve just ordered seeds and compost and I’m waiting for Warren and the kids to build some veg patch and flower beds for us to use (again, I’m pretty useless with a hammer and nails haha!).
Don’t forget to let me know how well you do in the quiz!
