Malaysia is a city that is absolutely dominated by skyscrapers. You have glittering lights and you even have the Petronas Towers as well. This makes the whole place even more unique and it is safe to say that you won’t find another place like it. If you were to take a trip down the streets, you would find vendors who sell a huge range of nibbles and quick bites, not to mention that entire streets are dedicated to foods and spices. It’s very easy for you to become overwhelmed by the sights, senses and smells and the best thing is that you won’t have to travel far to be ready for your next adventure. The problem is that if Malaysia is very different to the vacations you have been on before, you may not know what to pack, and that’s why this guide is designed to help you with that.
There is a high chance that when you visit, the weather will be very warm. Malaysia is known for having wetter months and this is between March and April, and then between September and November. That being said, there are various peak seasons and this is when it tends to be hotter. The main thing that you have to remember here is that it is going to be humid and that there will be storms, so don’t go thinking that it will be a perfect reflection of your Spanish holiday. If you are travelling to Malaysia then why not consider Malaysia apartments? This is a
great way for you to stay in the heart of the city.
So for packing you’ll want to pack for both the heat and the humidity. The heat can get really intense so it helps to have a set of clothing that will keep you really cool. It’s important to know that there is a significant Muslim community in this country so you will need to make sure that you dress in a way that is culturally respectful. This means not wearing short-shorts and no t-shirt! Being a respectful traveller will really help you to make the most out of your time there and if you are ever stuck for something then you know that the locals would be more than happy to fill you in. If you are stuck as to which clothing to pack, then think about cotton skirts, denim shorts and even some cotton t-shirts or dresses. Cotton is the way to go here, but you may also want to go for a couple of nice outfits if you want to go out for dinner or even on a night-out when on holiday.
Comfortable footwear is a must when travelling to Malaysia and this is because you will probably be doing a lot of walking. You’ll want to have sensible shoes and it may even be worth having some flats and then some sandals as well. With the weather being so hot, you may also want to take a swimsuit. If you usually swim with goggles or if you have a problem with water getting in your ears then don’t be afraid to take some ear medication with you or the whole trip may be ruined. If you do forget something then it should be more than possible for you to pick it up when you get there. You may also want to take some hairspray and some bobby pins because the humid heat will really get to your hair.
Your day bag will be needed for when you go out on a hike or when you go out exploring. In this bag, you will want to pack your umbrella, a water bottle and even a camera as well. The main thing that you need to remember here is that your bag has to be secure. You will want one that you can strap to yourself, such as a backpack or even a two-shoulder strap bag. With any country, there are pickpockets who want to take advantage of new tourists so it helps to make sure that you are not an obvious target. The best thing about Malaysia is that it is very safe so you will probably never feel unsafe when you do decide to make the trip.
When you pack, try and bring your beauty products with you but remember not to go too over the top. After all, you’re not travelling to Vegas. It’s a good idea for you to have a bottle of deodorant with you and it is also a good idea for you to pack some sunscreen as well. This will help you to fight the heat and it will also help you to stay cool and comfortable as well. If you know that you are sensitive to sunburn then it’s a good idea for you to pack some moisturiser if you can.
When you travel to Malaysia the power sockets tend to be the G type. This is the box plug that has three rectangular metal prongs. If you don’t have devices that have this as their plug then you may have to take an adapter with you or else you may not be able to charge your phone. If you are travelling to a touristy area then you may not have a problem in buying one when you are there, but if you are not or if you are travelling off the beaten path then you may have to re-buy your phone charger so you can get one with the right connection.
Of course, you can also take some room spray with you as well. Malaysia is a very hot country and the rooms tend to be quite small, so it’s a good idea to take something nice-smelling with you if the room hasn’t been aired out for quite some time. Other than that, travelling to Malaysia is a great way for you to explore everything that you have always wanted and you’d be surprised at how much of a great experience it can provide you.
