Mache Art is becoming one of my favourite things to do, particularly as a family. For Halloween Hobbycraft sent us a mache hand, a mache spider and some mache pumkins and they all turned out very differently indeed.
Warren was given the challenge of the creepy hand, and he did an amazing job! He chose to paint it, giving it much more of an eerie vibe compared to decoupage. He basically layered the differentl shades of green and then added the blood red colour. It needed a few hours to dry because of the layers of paint, but the end result is awesome!
My challenge was a little hanging spider. If you read the blgo you might have seen my posts on decoupage, and well, I’m a big fan of this craft so you might not be surprised to hear that’s what I went with! I had some spooky spider decoupage paper pretty perfect for this little dude…
We had a little early Halloween party with some close friends so we set up some mache pumpkins for them to decorate!I love how each child did something different with their pumpkin and the results are really effective…
All these crafts are so much fun, and they’re suitable for anyone, no matter their age! I really enjoyed seeing the pumpkins come to life most of all, they all have different characters and look spookishly good!
Have you tried different ways to decorate a mache shape?
