Christmas Wreath Making With Hobbycraft.

We were recently sent a lovely bundle of Christmas wreath goodies from Hobbycraft so we could have a go at making our own. We love handmade; from cards to gifts we’re always keen to make rather than buy so as we approach Christmas a handmade wreath is definitely the perfect make!

We were sent a 45cm Artificial Christmas Wreath (RRP £5), bows (RRP £1), ribbon (RRP 75p), reindeer moss, a robin ornament (RRP £2.50), stem wire (RRP £2), buttons (RRP £1.00) and bells (RRP £3).

To start we placed everything on the table so we could get an idea of what we had to work with…

We then discussed where we’d like to place things and tried them out in different positions to see what would work. Although Molly started off helping us, at the point where we had to attach all the different pieces, it was hard to make it  together. The wire and attaching different pieces is quite fiddly so I did most of this…

At first I struggled a little to get the wire through and tied, but once I’d done it a few times it became easier. Warren helped create button decorations and he also cut a few snippets of fresh holly to add to the wreath…

When it was complete I was shocked at the result because I was a tad worried it was going to be a bit messy, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out…

I absolutely adore this handmade wreath and I’m pretty chuffed to have made it myself. It is going to look adorable and very festive on our front door, paving the way to a very beautiful, bright handmade Christmas.
