Book Review: The Music Man’s Songbook by Jon Lawrence.

We are a house that
loves music, from Warren’s singer/songwriter background to George’s
obsession with Queen, we all have our different ways of expressing
ourselves with music. We were recently sent The Music Man’s Songbook
by Jon Lawrence from Bird’s Nest Books to review, and I have to say, it was a huge hit!

The book is a
combination of the written word, illustrations and a CD so you can
either look at the pictures, read the songs, sing the songs or sing
along with the CD or all of these at once!

We went in right at
the deep end and popped the CD on and immediately the room was full
of dancing Allens singing along to the songs! Even though we all
joined in with singing and dancing, Molly seemed to love the music
the most, she couldn’t stop dancing!

The book itself is
really beautiful, the illustrations are gorgeous and quirky, as well
as really colourful.

There are 12 songs in total as well as bonus
song on the CD, and every single song got us dancing and singing
along!

The music is really
‘feel good’ and full of lots of upbeat songs, and we were able to
join in physically with songs such as Pull A Funny Face and The
Weather Song. Check out Molly and her ‘funny face’…

This book is perfect
for anyone who loves singing along and being a little bit silly, and
we all loved joining in and singing along. I think it’s also a great
resource for being loud and having lots of fun but you could use some
songs at quieter times like bedtime to sing quietly together.

For our family
they’re a perfect way to start the day! You cna get your very own copy for £9.99 (plus P&P) here.
Disclosure: We received this book in exchange for review. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
