An Evening at Celtic Manor

Situated on the hillside with breathtaking views, the manor has something for everyone. I was lucky enough to be invited along for an #Eveningatthemanor; a chance to see another side to this fabulous place.
The Celtic Manor often reminds most people of golf or spa days, but as I found out last night, these activities are the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to this fantastic resort.
I was invited to try the new culinary delights on offer and upon arrival I immediately felt special. I can sometimes feel intimidated in large venues, but the staff were attentive, kind and thoughtful and each person made me feel at ease so I settled into the vibe of the night pretty quickly!
Our journey around the Manor began in the new Signature Lounge located on the 6th floor. This is an adult only area (along with Epicure and Steak on Six) that simply took my breath away. We were treated to yummy bubbly and an array of fascinating canapés from Steak on six.
My favourites were the Iberian Ham (from acorn-fed pigs!) because it was quite simply more-ish, and I also adored the Asparagus, Pea and Welsh Feta. My taste-buds were certainly entertained and I would highly recommend a visit for those people who love unusual and rich flavours and especially the steak lovers out there!
The décor at Steak on Six is extremely well thought out. The cow skin covered chairs and overall feel of the restaurant is one of rustic charm. This matched with the breathtaking views and mouthwatering food makes this an irresistible place to dine.

Next up was our very own Epicure Experience by Michelin-starred chef Richard Davies. The design and purple colour scheme sits perfectly alongside the fine dining element of this restaurant.
We were treated to Celeriac Espuma with Apple and Truffle, Scallops and Foie Gras. The food at Epicure is visually stunning, the kind of food you simply cannot bear to cut into, but you do anyway because it tastes so good!
After our starters we headed over to the newly refurbished CEN restaurant for a master-class with Masterchef finalist Larkin Cen himself! This was a really inspiring part of the evening. It was wonderful to see Larkin’s passion and drive for food, cookery and flavours. At first I was a little surprised by the plucked duck, but as I watched him work his magic and lovingly prepare it ready for cooking, I only felt joy.
He explained each step of the process to make Peking Duck and luckily enough there was a live stream of this part of the night which can be viewed below. After this we headed into the CEN restaurant where we were able to try the Peking Duck sharer ourselves. It smelt delicious on arrival and it came accompanied with pancakes and rice. I loved tasting all the different flavours and seeing how each component worked with each other. It was incredibly tasty, especially the crispy skin!
Once we had devoured the main, we were presented with a chocolate dessert. This was gorgeous, rich and creamy and it didn’t last two seconds on my plate! We were treated even further with a second desert of Bao and Coconut ice cream.
After all of the amazing food it was time for one of my favourite things, a nice hot cup of tea!
Last night was an amazing experience and it truly opened my eyes to a world inside The Celtic Manor Resort that I never realised existed. For me this experience was all about regaining some quality adult time in a gorgeous location with outstanding food.
If you’re after an unforgettable experience, look no further than an evening at the Manor.
